Write with four pens and edit with the lasso.

Set color and width for ballpoint, fountain, brush and highlighter pens, and use the lasso to move, rotate or copy strokes. Ink is stored as vectors separate from the PDF, so it stays sharp when zoomed.

Recording and export

Record the lecture while you write.

Record a lecture from the writing screen. Select a stroke written during the recording to jump to that moment. Export pages and audio as PDF, PNG or M4A, or save an editable .linapad backup.

How are notes linked to a recording?

Each stroke written during recording keeps its timestamp. Selecting it during review jumps to the connected point in the audio.

Can I keep the original PDF with my notes?

Yes. Source PDFs and vector ink remain separate, while a .linapad backup can preserve the PDF, handwriting, recordings and notebook metadata together.

Does it require an account or internet connection?

No. Core writing, recording, review and export features work locally without an account.
